Woman, 18, charged with Doncaster teen's murder is refused bail
A 18-year-old woman charged with the murder of Doncaster teenager Lewis Guest, was unable to walk out of court today after the judge refused her bail.
Megan Sambrook, of Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court charged with murder in connection with the death of 18-year-old Lewis Guest.
Justice Stephen Males refused Sambrook, aged 18, bail during this morning's private hearing, which members of the press and members of the public were prevented from attending.
She has now been remanded into custody.
Sambrook is next due to appear before the court on March 24 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Lewis was discovered in a block of flats off Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, on Wednesday, March 8 following reports of an assault.
Despite being rushed to hospital, Lewis was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A post-mortem examination later concluded that the teenager had been stabbed to death.
Lewis's family released the first picture of the popular teen yesterday, adding that they are all 'shocked and devastated by his death'.
The statement read: “Lewis’ family are shocked and devastated by his death.
They wish to thank all those people who have taken the time to leave their kind thoughts of Lewis on social media. “However, his family would ask that their privacy is respected at this very sad time.”
Hundreds of people have already paid tribute to the popular teenager on social media following his death.
