Witchcraft fears as ghost hunters investigate creepy dolls at Doncaster beauty spot
Paranormal investgators probing mysterious baby dolls found daubed in fake blood and nailed to trees at a Doncaster beauty spot say they have been told the area is a haven for witchcraft and occultism.
The bizarre and gruesome find has been attracting numerours tourists to King’s Wood near Bawtry, with mystery surrounding how the dolls came to be there.
Now a South Yorkshire ghost-hunting duo have carried out an investigation in the woodland – and say tests carried out revealed the presence of spirit voices, uttering words such as ‘devil’ and ‘demon’ while they say they have also been told occult practices are carried out in the woods.
Lee and Linzi Steer, of Rotherham based Facebook page Project Reveal – Ghosts of Britain, which has more than one million followers, have carried out two probes at the site, just off the Great North Road, after first being told about the dolls several weeks ago.
Lee said: “People have told us that witchcraft takes place there.
"We’ve no idea if that’s the case or whether these dolls are anything to do with that, but it’s all very weird.”
Linzi added: “It might well be a prank. People might have got bored in lockdown and done this for a laugh, but it is a very strange thing to do and not very nice for people to see.”
After a night-time investigation in the wood, the pair returned during daylight hours to film the dolls. Some were attached to trees and daubed in paint, while others were left scattered in the undergrowth.
And the pair were shocked when EVP equipment – an app which picks up ghost ‘voices’ began warning the pair with a number of words associated with sorcery.
He said: “I asked the spirts if anything was being conjured up around here, and a voice replied: “I am.”
"We also heard the words ‘demon’ and ‘devil.’
Added Linzi: “I think it is probably a prank and reckon we’ll probably see more of these with people copying. I don’t think we’ll ever really know what’s happened.”
