Wheatley are now fourth from bottom in North One East, with three teams due to go down.

However, with two of the teams below them having games in hand they are far from secure against the drop.

Full-back Owen Gilvray kicked four penalties in the first half as the Doncaster side led 12-10 at half time.

The boot of Gilvray served them well through the second half too with three more penalties, but they trailed 21-22 with five minutes left to play.

Gilvray attempted his eighth penalty but his effort struck the upright and bounced back into play. However, Hills gathered the ball and drove on for centre Ian Blessed to touch down and secure a vital win for the home side.
