Hatty’s is a welcoming tea room run by Kerry and Richard Lee. Since acquiring the venue three years ago, they have built a solid reputation for their mouth-watering menu of home-made dishes.

Head chef Richard rustles up different meals each day. And they look as good as they taste. Choices include winter warmers such as the popular Ricardo’s cottage pie, meatballs or Welsh rarebit, and there is an additional daily specials board.

The delicious cakes are down to Kerry. Her apricot and almond torte that will feature on this year’s North Lincolnshire Teapot Trail. But it’s hard to choose from goodies such as coffee and walnut cake, lemon drizzle or Bakewell tart.

Limoncello cheesecake is a top choice. Or the traditional afternoon tea at £12.50 a head, which is served on dainty china with a sandwich selection, savouries, cakes and scones with tea or coffee.

Kerry said: “We are community orientated and regularly stage charity events. Virtually all food is made on the premises and we use ingredients sourced locally as much as we can.”

Their suppliers include Albion Bakery, Gravel and Sons fruit and veg shop, Medley Farm Shop in Belton and Parkin’s butchers.

Warm and inviting on chilly winter days, the tea rooms are fully air conditioned for hotter weather too.

The eatery can cater for any special occasion from birthdays to christenings or anniversaries. There is a wide and delicious variety of dishes to choose from including vegetarian options.

Space inside the tea rooms is plentiful. Don’t be fooled when you first walk in as there is additional room upstairs and charming courtyard behind the building.
