The AGM for the Festival of the Plough will take place on Tuesday, February 2, at the Thurlow Pavilion, Station Road, Epworth, at 7:30pm and committee chairman, John Smith, said volunteers are urgently needed to assist with the event and to enable it to go ahead.

He said that in previous years volunteers had helped with litter picking, staking out, acting as committee members and other tasks, but until the meeting had taken place the specifics of what was required would not be known.

He added: “We are always wanting extra hands for the event, which this year takes place on September 18. We are always needing committee members if they are needed to replace others who may leave. Committee meetings take place for a couple of hours on the first Tuesday of each month, so if anyone can spare the time to attend they should contact me.”

He further added: “The festival, which was started by agricultural engineering firm boss, John Harris and farmer, Neville Lyndley, again takes place at High Burnham Farm in Epworth.” For more information call John Smith, on 01427 872350.
