As the search for missing Sutton woman Melanie Wilson, 22, enters its ninth day, police officers are handing out leaflets in the hope they may jog people's memories.

BREAKING: Police divers searching lake for missing Mansfield woman
The renewed appeal follows a comprehensive search around Sutton Lawn, where police frogmen have been diving in the lake and trawling the perimeter of the water for the past three days. 
The leaflets released today feature a photo of Melanie showing a distinctive ‘sleeve tattoo’ on her right arm, including a face, which officers hope may help to find her.
Melanie, a volunteer at a local charity shop, was reported missing after she was last seen by her friends at home on Wednesday, October 19.
Her address has not been released but Nottinghamshire Police has told the Chad the next stage of the plan would be a street search in the area she lives.
Members of the community continue their own efforts to find the young woman, known to have two cats which are being looked after by relatives. 
She is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall, with blonde hair and is of a slim build.

Mansfield’s district commander, Insp. Nick Butler said her family are deeply worried for her and appealed for her to contact police or relatives.

He said: “We’re still looking for Melanie and urging anyone who has seen her to get in touch. That one piece of information may help to find her.

“Melanie’s family is distraught and really worried about her, as we all are. One can only imagine how difficult it would be to not have any contact with a loved one for this long.

“We just need to know if anyone at all has heard or seen her then we really do need to hear from them. That one piece of information may help to find her.

“She is not in any kind of trouble, all we need to know is that she is safe and well.
“If you are seeing this appeal Melanie, then please contact us to let us know you are safe.
“You’re not in any kind of trouble, we just need you to come forward and let us know where you are.
“Your family and friends are really worried about you. Please just pop into a local police station, doctors’ surgery or hospital so that we know you’re okay.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 858 of 21 October 2016.

Insp. Butler added: “She does use social media quite a lot so people are concerned that she hasn’t used it since she was last seen.”

Melanie lives in Sutton and worked as volunteer in a local charity shop. Two cats found at her address are being looked after by friends.

“There’s no indication as to why she may have gone. She also hasn’t got her mobile phone with her, which is concerning for someone who is so active on social media. No-one has heard anything which is really concerning.”
