UPDATE: One lane closed on the M18 due to a road traffic collision

Highways England have reported the incident is on the northbound carriagway between junctions four and five.

A spokesman said: “We received a report of a collision involving two vehicles at 7.43am this morning between junctions 4 and 5 along the northbound carriageway of the M18 The vehicles have come to rest on the hard shoulder and into lane one. "

They continued: “Lane one of two remains closed for the recovery of the vehicles involved who are on scene. This remains a police incident.”

There are currently delays of 40 minutes against expected traffic flow and the road is expected to clear between 10.45 and 11am.

And they added that the normal flow of traffic conditions are expected to returne between around 11.45 and noon.
