UPDATE: A1M down to one lane after a road traffic collision on the northbound carriageway
One lane of the A1M was closed to traffic because of a road traffic collision this afternoon.
According to Highways England the incident involved two HGVs and affected lane one of the northbound carriageway between junctions 34 and 35.
The initial report about the collision came from a member of the public.
The road was expected to be closed until after 3pm but the vehicles have now been moved onto the hard shoulder, a spokesman for the Highways Agency has confirmed.
