Tailbacks were building up on the A1 near Doncaster this morning due to a stranded vehicle.

But at 8.15am, Highways England confirmed that the lane which had been closed by the incident had just re-opened.

The delays have affected the A1 near Barnsdale Bar. Queues of traffic had been reported to be building up this morning.

Highways England stated at 7.50am “The #A1 southbound #J40 (#Wentbridge #Darrington) to #J39 (#BarnsdaleBar) 1 lane has been closed due to a stranded vehicle.

They said congestion was building on the approach.
