Doncaster road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

And seven of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M18, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 6am March 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 6 to junction 7, Lane closure for structure maintenance.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M18, from 8pm January 5 to 6am February 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 6 to junction 7, carriageway closure and lane closures for inspections, diversion local authority.

• A1(M), from 9pm January 5 to 5am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 37 to junction 38, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance.

• M18, from 8pm January 7 to 6am January 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M180 westbound, junction 1. M18 northbound and southbound, junction 5, Lane closure for general cleaning and maintenance.

• M62, from 8pm January 7 to 5am January 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 37 to junction 35, carriageway closure for technology works, diversion A614 A645 A1041 A63 A19 M62.

• M18, from 8pm January 8 to 5am January 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M18 southbound, junction 7 to junction 5, carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal, diversion via local authority networks.

• M62, from 9pm January 8 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 35 to junction 34, Lane closure for barrier repair works.

• M18, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure for barrier repairs, diversion via national highways network.

• M18, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 4 to junction 5, slip road closure for general cleaning and maintenance, diversion.

• M18, from 9pm January 12 to 5am January 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 3 to junction 4, carriageway and lane closures for structure maintenance, diversion route via A6182, A18 and A630.

• M180, from 9pm January 13 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M180 westbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for sign works.

• M18, from 9pm January 13 to 6am January 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound and southbound, junction 4 to junction 6, Lane closure for sign works.

• M18, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M18 northbound and southbound, junction 5 to junction 6, Lane closure for technology works.

• M18, from 9pm January 15 to 5am January 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M18 northbound, junction 3 to junction 4, slip road closure for general cleaning and maintenance, diversion M18 M180.

• A1(M), from 8pm January 16 to 6am February 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1M northbound, junction 36 to junction 37, carriageway closure for inspections, diversion A1M A635.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included.
