BREAKING: All three lanes of the M180 are closed due to a road traffic accident

The incident is on the eastbound carriageway between the M18 junction five and junction two of the M180, there are no details yet of the number of vehicles or persons involved.

There are a number of emergency service vehicles at the scene, and the air ambulance is also in attendance.

The road is not expected to be clear until between 3.45pm and 4pm at the earliest.

Highways England has taken the step of closing junction five of the M18 to assist with moving traffic which is currently stuck within the closure.

A spokesman said: “We have got traffic officers on scene getting into position to get the trapped traffic released. This incident is going to be ongoing for thee to four hours.”
