Thief who stole charity box and spirits from Doncaster rugby club caught on CCTV

The raider broke in to the club in a late night attack

Upset bosses at a Doncaster rugby club have released CCTV after a thief broke in and stole a charity collecting box and half empty bottles of spirits.

The raider struck at Doncaster Toll Bar ARLFC at around 11.30pm on Sunday night - and the club has released footage of the incident in a bid to track down the thief.

Sharing the clip, a club spokesperson said: “Shocking news we have to bring you all.

“The bright spark decided he wanted whatever was in the clubhouse without the need to pay for it.

“Taking into consideration we don't leave cash on site and the vast majority of people pay on card nowadays, he got away with a raffle tin, the Evestrust charity donation box and a couple of half empty spirit bottles.

“Anyway, he showed he used his full brain capacity after weighing all this up by breaking into the club, entering and then locking himself back out again when he came to get his swag bag.

“With what he got and the time taken, he would have earned more cash spending time productively in a minimum wage job.

“Our main concern is that as a non-profit organisation we now have to fork out to repair all the damage and improve our security once again.

“This ultimately means money we could have used to improve the facilities and equipment for hundreds of people to use has to now be redirected to put right the damage which will be well into four figures!

“We believe other businesses in the area were also targeted and if anyone has any information, we request that it be shared with us, anonymously if you prefer.”
