South Yorkshire pupils to discover their secondary school fate
Local councils are contacting parents to inform them which of their three preferred choices their child has been allocated a place at.
Last year in Sheffield more than 96 per cent of pupils starting secondary school were given a place in one of their preferred schools - an increase of almost two per cent on 2015.

Hide AdIn total, 96 per cent of pupils were allocated one of their three preferences, with 5,335 pupils - 87 per cent - being allocated their first choice school.
In 2015, 94 per cent of pupils were allocated one of their three choices, with 5,194 - 86.48 per cent - allocated their first choice.
In Doncaster, 99 per cent of children were offered a place at one of their three choices, with 96 per cent gaining entry at their first choice school.
In Rotherham, 96 per cent of children were given their first preference and a further three per cent their second or third choices.
