Local cinema-goers voted the blockbuster as the film they'd most want to see back on the big screen.
By being voted top, Jurassic World will return to Cineworld Sheffield for the first-ever IMAX Film Festival on Saturday, February 27, 2016.
Cineworld’s line-up for the festival sees movie favourites selected by local film fans brought back to the big screen at Sheffield for one day only.
Other winning selections include space epic and Academy Award winner Gravity, as well as 2016 Oscar ‘Best Picture’ nominee Mad Max: Fury Road. And as a special exclusive, due to popular demand, The Martian will also be screening in IMAX with laser for the first time ever in the UK.
Cinema fans can book tickets for the film of their choice for the fantastic price of £3 per screening.
Karen Godfrey, General Manager of Cineworld Sheffield, said “It’s no surprise that Jurassic World has been chosen as the film the people of Sheffield would most love to bring back to the big screen in IMAX with laser – it was one of the biggest films of 2015 and we know lots of people are dying to have a chance to see it in IMAX with laser again!
"At £3 a ticket, there’s no excuse not to come down on the February 27 and catch one of the IMAX classic films on the big screen again – we can guarantee you won’t be disappointed! Book tickets online now to secure your seat!” She added.
Andrew Cripps, IMAX President EMEA, said: “It’s not only a great way to allow fans to enjoy their favourite IMAX movies again, but also an opportunity to attract new audiences and let them experience these larger-than-life films through the immersive IMAX format for the first time.”
IMAX’s cutting-edge projection system, which delivers crystal-clear images, coupled with its customised theatre design and powerful digital sound system, creates a unique environment that makes audiences feel as if they are in the film.
