Ofsted hails 'warm, caring and inclusive' Tickhill Estfeld Primary School
Pupils at Tickhill Estfeld Primary School are outperforming national standards while thriving in a 'warm, caring and inclusive' setting, according to education inspectors.
Pupils at Tickhill Estfeld Primary School are significantly outperforming national academic benchmarks while benefiting from an exceptionally nurturing environment, according to education watchdog Ofsted.
Published data shows that 79% of pupils at the school met the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics across the latest three-year average, well above the 61% recorded nationally.
Individual subject outcomes were similarly high across the same period, with 90% reaching the benchmark in reading, 89% in writing and 88% in mathematics.

The findings follow an inspection on September 15 and 16, 2026, during which inspectors described the setting as a “warm, caring and inclusive school” where children feel safe, valued and part of a close community. Inspectors highlighted consistently high attendance and calm, respectful behaviour.
Pupils reported that bullying is very rare and noted they trust staff to deal with any worries swiftly and fairly. Safeguarding standards were confirmed as fully met, supported by an open culture where safeguarding is treated as everyone’s responsibility.
The inspection also commended the school’s targeted support for inclusion.
Staff identify needs at an early stage and adapt learning into manageable steps, alongside offering quiet spaces and visual prompts for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
A family support worker additionally assists families in overcoming practical and emotional challenges. Early years provision was praised for its calm atmosphere, language-rich environment, purposeful teaching and daily phonics.
Beyond the classroom, pupils take part in residential trips, cultural experiences, leadership opportunities and community fundraising.
Amanda Painter, Headteacher of Tickhill Estfeld Primary School, said: “We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the caring, inclusive and supportive environment that makes Tickhill Estfeld such a special place to learn and work.
“Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do, and we are incredibly proud of the kindness they show, the positive relationships they build and the enthusiasm they bring to their learning.”
She added: “This report reflects the dedication of our staff, the support of our families and governors, and the contribution our pupils make to our school community every day.
“We are particularly pleased that inspectors recognised our work to support inclusion, develop children’s confidence and wellbeing, and provide a strong start in the early years.
“We also welcome the clear priorities identified for our continued improvement. We are ambitious for every child and will continue to work together to continue to ensure that all pupils achieve their very best.”
