Rubbish set alight next to major Sheffield road

Firefighters were called out to a pile of rubbish set alight next to a major Sheffield road.

The fire near to Lidl supermarket at the junction of Prince of Wales Road and Castlebeck Avenue, Manor, was reported at 2.30am.

It is believed to have been started deliberately.

This morning firefighters also dealt with a street light which caught fire after developing an electrical fault in York Road, Highfields, Doncaster and a pile of rubbish found burning in Plantation Court, Dinnington, Rotherham.

Last night crews dealt with a car which caught fire after developing a fault in Walkley Crescent Road, Walkley, Sheffield.

Firefighters were also alerted to a blaze to the rear of a property in Foljambe Crescent, New Rossington, Doncaster.
