Head of Doncaster secondary school temporarily steps aside due to ill health
He has been at the school since 2021
The head of one of Doncaster's biggest secondary schools has temporarily stepped aside due to ill health, education bosses have said.
Andy Peirson, who has been in charge at Ridgewood School in Scawsby, since 2021, has been replaced by deputy head Andy Bridge for the foreseeable future.
A spokesperson for Leger Education Trust, which runs the school, said: "Mr Peirson is currently absent from school due to ill health.
"Mr Bridge, Deputy Headteacher, is currently leading the school with support from Leger Education Trust."
Mr Peirson arrived at the Barnsley Road school from another of the city's major secondary schools.
The former principal of Armthorpe Academy replaced Maggie Dunn following her retirement, taking up his post in January 2021.
