Remembrance 2026: Details of how Doncaster will be paying its respects
Details of this year’s service have been announced
Doncaster will pay tribute to its war dead this weekend with the annual Remembrance service.
The city is preparing to come together to honour the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community at local Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day commemorations.

Remembrance Sunday, taking place on 8 November, will begin with a Service of Remembrance at the war memorial on Bennetthorpe at 10.30am.
Serving members of the Armed Forces community, veterans and cadets will assemble in formation inside the park before marching through the gates to the war memorial.
Terraced seating and a large public screen will be installed to create a more comfortable and accessible viewing experience for the public.
The Service of Remembrance, which has been extended this year, will be followed by a parade to the Mansion House.

A service will also take place at Doncaster Minster.
Commemorations for Armistice Day on Wednesday 11 November will begin outside the Mansion House at 10.50am. The service will include the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille by a bugler, alongside the traditional Act of Homage.
There will be parking prohibitions in place due to the parade on Saturday November 7 from 9pm until 12.00 noon on Sunday 8 November.
A City of Doncaster Council spokesperson said: “We need to keep the roads clear to accommodate the parade so any vehicles which should not be there will be removed.
“Prohibited areas will be clearly marked by cones, and we ask for everyone's cooperation to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.”
