Reform UK attacks "mindless vandals" who wrecked Doncaster playground

The damage meant equipment has had to be removed

Reform UK has blasted “mindless vandals” who wrecked a Doncaster playground.

The party’s Doncaster branch has hit out at the yobs for the attack on the park in Lakeside near to the Asda supermarket.

Describing it as “a shocking act of vandalism,” a spokesperson said the destruction “could have had serious consequences.”

A spokesperson said: “A piece of play equipment was ripped from the ground and placed on top of the climbing frame, creating a potentially dangerous hazard for children using the park.

“The issue was reported by a local resident and, because of the immediate safety risk, Street Scene attended within hours to remove the damaged equipment and make the area safe.

“Unfortunately, the equipment was beyond repair and has had to be removed.”

Reform UK Bessacarr Ward councillor David Carroll said: “This was a completely mindless act of vandalism that could have resulted in a child being seriously injured.

“Thankfully, a vigilant resident reported it quickly and Street Scene responded promptly to remove the danger.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved for acting so swiftly.

“There is simply no excuse for damaging facilities that are there for local families to enjoy.”

“If you see vandalism or anything that poses a risk to public safety, please report it as soon as possible. Working together, we can help keep our parks safe for everyone.”
