Sachira Madapatha claimed extraordinary figures of 8-7 from 8.3 overs as he bowled Askern Welfare to a 104-run win over Brodsworth Main.

Askern posted 175-7 with Andrew O’Grady contributing 67.

But it was Madapatha who stole the limelight, coming on as second change to run through Brodsworth’s hapless batting line-up.

The visitors collapsed from 46-2 to 71 all out as Madapatha claimed no fewer than eight victims.

Elsewhere in Division One Hatfield Town lost to Streethouse and Hooton Pagnell were defeated by Ackworth.

James Stewart (58) helped Hatfield up to 148 all out but Streethouse reached their target in 29.1 overs for the loss of six wickets.

Joshua John (49) and Luke Lodge (38) top scored for Hooton in their total of 176 all out but Ackworth completed a four wicket win in 43.2 overs.

In Division Two Barnby Dun eased to a 138-run win at Thorpe Audlin.

Paul Dykes (52) and Zully Shah (52) top scored in Barnby’s total of 186 all out.

Idris Khan (4-10) and Umar Ali (3-4) then starred with the ball as Thorpe Audlin collapsed to 48 all out.

Bentley Colliery recorded their first win of the season in Division Four with a 42-run victory at Stainborough.

Mick King hit 99 and took 3-1 as Colliery posted 163-5 and then reduced the hosts to 121 all out.

Bentley captain Antony Smith also claimed 4-23.

Rossington Main beat Hatfield B by five wickets. Fenwick were skittled for just 32 in a 65-run defeat to Garforth, while Bullcroft Main lost by 152 runs at Frickley Colliery B.
