This is the moment veteran Conservative MP Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg was left sounding like a cross between a growling dinosaur and a lion – after a video message in support of Nick Fletcher went disastrously wrong.

Mr Fletcher, who is hoping to be elected for the Conservatives in the newly created Doncaster East and Isle of Axholme constituency, shared a video message of support from Sir Jacob on his social media channels.

But despite the message starting off at the right speed, the clip dramatically slows down – leaving Sir Jacob’s seemingly “growling” and “roaring” at the camera as he reads out his message of support.

The clip, which lasts for nearly two minutes, is completely unintelligible, bar for a few words at the start and the end of the clip in which he signs off with the line: “He’s a Fletcher who’s arrows alwways hit the target, vote for Nick.”
