The Don Valley MP says the airport will come under the spotlight at Westminster on October 24.
It comes as owners Peel prepare to close the airport later this month – although both South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard and Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones have said the firm is meeting with potential investors interested in taking over DSA this week.

Announcing the news on social media, Mr Fletcher said: “I promised that even though the petition was not through the Parliamentary website which would guarantee a debate if 100,000 signatures were reached, that I would secure a debate in Parliament.
“I have now delivered on that promise. It’s been a lot of hard work but its paid off.
“I’m delighted to tell you all that we now have a date for a debate in Parliament.

“As I said before I’m on it. I’m doing all I can.”
Earlier this week, it was announced that both Mayors Coppard and Jones urged Peel to consider numerous offers on the table for the airport which opened in 2005.
The pair have offered a financial lifeline to Peel while a buyer is found.
