Council in touch with Environment Agency over foul odour which closed Doncaster Moto Parc
Doncaster Mayor’s office confirms the council is ‘investigating’.
The City of Doncaster Council is ‘in discussions’ with the relevant authorities over the closure of a Doncaster motocross venue, Mayor Ros Jones has said.
Doncaster Moto Parc has been closed since September 25, 2026, after an ‘ongoing odour issue’ was reportedly making staff and riders feeling physically sick.
The business has received an outpouring of support from the motocross community and beyond, with petitions demanding action from the authorities over the smell.
In a recent interview, Mayor Jones said she was aware of the issue.
“We are in discussions with the Environment Agency and it is actually the Environment Agency that licenses the premises down there,” she said.
The Mayor’s team later confirmed Doncaster Council were investigating the issue.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency confirmed on October 8, 2026, that it had launched an investigation.

They said: “”We are aware of reports of odour affecting residents and businesses in the Finningley and Austerfield area, including the Doncaster Moto Parc.
“We take these concerns seriously and are actively investigating the complaints.
“We will take appropriate regulatory action if we find evidence of businesses breaking their environmental permit conditions.”
In a social media statement on Thursday, Doncaster Moto Parc bosses said they were ‘missing the sound of bikes’ around the business’ track.
“It’s been a difficult few weeks, but the support we’ve received from riders, families and the wider motocross community has been incredible,” the business said.
“There’s a lot going on behind the scenes as we work towards getting the gates open again safely. We can’t give you a date just yet, but we’re doing everything we can,” the statement added.
