Caroline Flint: 'Corbynistas and Uber Remainers' to blame for predicted Labour losses in constituencies including her Don Valley seat

Caroline Flint has said that ‘Corbynistas and Uber Remainers’ are both to blame for predicted Labour losses which include her Don Valley seat, and if correct, would see the constituency represented by a Conservative for the first time.

The results have not yet been called, but Caroline Flint has already taken to Twitter to seemingly share her commiserations.

She said: “We’re going to hear the Corbynistas blame it on Brexit and the Labour Uber Remainers blaming Corbyn. Both are to blame for what looks like a terrible night for Labour.

“Both have taken for granted Labour’s heartlands. Sorry we couldn’t offer you a Labour Party you could trust.”

Ms Flint has represented Don Valley since 1997.

The Conservatives’ Nick Fletcher is forecast to take the seat, which would make him the constituency’s first ever Tory MP.

The party is on course for a majority of 86.
