Police have launched an investigation after a car smashed through the wall of a Doncaster city centre gym.

Emergency services were called to The Gym Group within the Frenchgate Centre earlier today after a car smashed through an exterior wall, sending bricks scattering and sending fitness fans running for cover.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show the car wedged through the wall of the building, which backs onto the shopping centre’s roof top car park.

"We expect to be open again in the next 24 hours.”
