Police hunt man who punched rail worker in face on Doncaster bound train

The attack took place on a train bound for Doncaster

Police have issued CCTV of a man wanted for punching a rail worker in the face on a Doncaster bound train.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating the assault on a member of train staff on board the train have released this image in connection with the incident.

At around 6.45am on 6 August, a man boarded a train from Hull Paragon Interchange to Doncaster without a ticket.

The member of train staff then told the man that he would have to leave the train at Hessle railway station.

The man then pushed the member of the train staff and punched him in the face.

The member of train staff suffered a concussion, severe bruising to neck and chest, and required stiches to his ear.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image could have information that may assist their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP on 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 94 of 6 August.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
