The raids, week commencing June 15, involved 12 warrants. I am not able to give much detail for operational reasons, but a number of arrests were made and a significant amount of class A and class B drugs seized. We see this as success in ongoing work there.

They are not the only drug seizures recently in Doncaster west.

On June 11 we stopped a van on Tenter Lane, Warmsworth, finding two bags of cropped cannabis – weighing 5.5kg in total.

The driver was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

Twice, we came across cannabis cultivation set-ups by chance.

One was on Askern Road, Bentley, when we went round to arrest a man for a separate issue, on June 24. There was also £22,000 in cash in the house.

The other occasion followed a drug warrant on South Street, Highfields, where 50 cannabis plants were found. Enquiries led us to Coppice Road on June 30, where we found 12 more plants.

A big issue has been nuisance motorcyclists on the streets of Conisbrough, leading to the force’s off road biking team visiting on several occasions.

On June 17, we stopped a motorbike on Old Road, and found it was stolen, leading to an arrest.

The following day were discovered three stolen quad bikes and a stolen motorbike. We also did speed checks on Old Road.

I hope this shows it is worth reporting this issue to us, and urge people to continue to do so.

Bentley and Tollbar saw a spate of burglaries recently. Patrols increased as a result. Two men were arrested on June 24 for burglary and car theft on Manor Estate. The previous day, a suspected burglar was arrested at The Range on York Road.

We have been busy recently with the re-opening of pubs. It was a real positive. Apart from the odd isolated example, the public embraced the rules, didn’t get too close to each other, and the pubs effectively managed the situation.
