The singer, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, is about to unleash his third album on the world.

And in an explosive interview ahead of its release, he says the album has helped shape him and channel his anger.

“I healed a lot making this album,” he said.

“This record gave me the strength I needed. Now I don’t give a f*** what people say about me or how they label me. If anyone wants to try to cancel me then I’m ready for them.”

He says the backlash started after his second record Weird! topped the charts in December 2020.

Yungblud said: “In the UK, the critics build you up and then they f***ing tear you down and after my last album it was definitely Yungblud’s turn to get taken down.”

The condemnation came in the form of trolls calling the pansexual singer a “queerbaiter” (pretending to have a queer sexuality) and labelling him fake and uncool.

“Up to that point I had a smooth ride but then it was my turn to get a slap,” he says.

“Every time someone points a finger at me they dilute me.

“Even as you get bigger, people try and put you in a f***ing box and you can’t do that with me.

“I’ve heard, ‘Yungblud’s saving rock music, Yungblud is a punk and Yungblud is a queer icon’.

“Well, I’m not. I’m just f***ing me. Like David Bowie and Lady Gaga, I can’t be defined. Yungblud is about freedom and I am finally free after making this album.”

The new album, simply titled Yungblud, sees the 25-year-old snger tackling a number of issues.

“I never wanted it to be some kind of ‘woe is me’ rock star album, because it’s not about that.

“Yungblud has always been about being honest. I’ve always said that if I ever became a rock star, I’d want to be pulled back down to earth as I’m not here to be on a pedestal.

And he’s also making a number of showbiz friends as he climbs the music ladder.

He told The Sun: “I’ve met so many great people recently. It’s all mad but brilliant.

“I had dinner with Lenny Kravitz the other night and I’ve also met Mick Jagger, Robert Smith (The Cure) and Brian Molko from Placebo.

“Me, hanging out with Mick Jagger and I’ve got Brian Molko’s number in me phone. It’s mental. They’re all brilliant and it’s crazy that these people are reaching out to me. It’s like what the f***?”

One celebrity friend Harrison has acquired in the past year is the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne, one of his many heroes who appear in the video for new song The Funeral.

He said: “I really relate to Ozzy Osbourne a lot because a lot of people think he’s crazy like me. Or staged, when we are both real. I’ve loved Ozzy since Sabbath. I also love Ozzy doing his solo thing and when he was in The Osbournes, so it was amazing to meet him.”
