Town Field residents have been joining forces to carry out regular litter picking sessions.

Over the past few months their work has encompassed the streets off Town Moor Avenue, these being the area from Town Moor to Craithie Road and from Imperial Crescent to Sandringham Road.

A spokesman said: “The group has considerable sympathy with Doncaster Council, whose street-cleaning equipment has trouble accessing gutters (where most litter gathers) because of parked cars. Unfortunately the gutters harbour more than just litter. Fallen leaves and weeds are also present, but the group members clear these up too.”

This group was set up by Chris Ames and any local residents who want to join in are welcome to contact her by email. It is planned to have a litter picking session at 10am

the last Saturday of each month, but other session may well be staged at other times.
