Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has paid tribute to NHS employee Dorothy Sweeney, saying staff were ‘deeply saddened’ by the news of the death of their ‘beloved’ colleague.

A spokesman for DBTH said: “Known as Dot to friends and family, she joined the Trust in September 2021 as the Young Adult Transitional Administrator within the Diabetes and Endocrine Administration.

"An important role, Dot was responsible for the data collection and administration processes associated with supporting young patients to manage their diabetes and appointments as they moved into adulthood.

“During her time with us, she supported many patients, and helped to make a difference so many.

"Dot unfortunately lost her battle with cancer in mid-November.
