Women’s biggest fear is that the sex will be a let down and there will be no natural chemistry.

The second biggest female worry is that their partner will not like their body, particularly their boobs.

The third most popular sex insecurity for women is whether they have sorted out their bikini line and shaved their legs.

In fourth place is worries over whether they are wearing Bridget Jones big knickers and in fifth place is fears over whether they will orgasm. Fewer than a third of women can orgasm through intercourse alone.

The results are from a new survey of 2,000 people by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading affairs site.

Men’s sex fears are strikingly different.

In top place is worries about sex being over too soon.

In second place is insecurity about whether she will have an orgasm.

In third place is body concerns, particularly flabby man boobs.

Fourth place is worries that he won’t be big enough and fifth place is anxieties that she is faking her orgasm.

The survey found that 78% of women and 62% of men experienced worry or anxiety before sleeping with a new partner for the first time.

For two-thirds of women (62%) and more than half of men 54% first time sex can be awkward and the physical side of a relationship improves as you get to know someone better.

Four-fifths of women (82%) and a similar number of men (84%) say they know within five minutes of sleeping with someone new if they click sexually.

IllicitEncounters.com sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni said: “We all have sex fears, particularly just before we sleep with a new partner for the first time.

“Some couples have zero sexual chemistry even if they have great sexual technique.

“Nearly all couples know if they click sexually with someone new within five minutes of first sleeping together.

“Lots of people can tell from the first kiss.

“It is worth remembering that even the most perfect sexual chemistry dulls over time because sex can get routine in a long-term relationship.

“That is why so many couples are up for having affairs, particularly as we start coming out of lockdown and restrictions are lifted.”
