Thorne pupil can be heard on television

Maisie Marsh, aged 11 and from Hatfield, was chosen over scores of other young hopefuls to become the voice for two popular children’s cartoon characters.
Maisie voices Abby Hatcher in the Nick Jr series of the same name, and also has a main role in the Netflix/Dreamworks animation, ‘Dragons: Rescue Riders’ as Aggro the fire dragon.

Maisie, said: “It’s weird hearing your voice on TV.
“But I love the fact that you can still act even if your face isn’t shown.”
Maisie started her voiceover career while at Hatfield Woodhouse primary school, with parts in Change4Life and McDonalds television adverts before she won the role as Abby Hatcher.
The lure of television, however, is not enough to deter her from her chosen career path.

She said: “I much prefer being on stage.
“In fact, all my family do – we’re like the Von Trapps.”
Maisie has already had a taste of stage acting in front of a large audience, with a part last Christmas in Nativity the Musical, and says that gave her the ‘itch’ to do it even more.
She is following in her family’s footsteps at Trinity – her older sister Molly played an active part in school productions and is now in her final year at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in Nottingham after winning a scholarship on leaving Trinity aged 16.
The girls’ mother, Janet Marsh, is appreciative of the support offered to students pursuing interests outside of the normal school curriculum.

“Molly enjoyed every minute and Maisie is adamant she will do the same.
“I am thrilled how well Trinity supports students in their talents and places such an emphasis on how character development is so important in young people.”
