Santa Claus IS coming to Doncaster: Villages fix up visits after Covid axes sleigh tour

Santa Claus will be coming to parts of Doncaster after all this Christmas – after his traditional sleigh tour of the town was axed because of coronavirus.

Local Lions clubs normally organise for Father Christmas to tour the streets of Doncaster in the run up to the big day.

However, this year’s events by Doncaster Lions, Thorne Rural Lions and Went Valley Lions have had to be cancelled because of coronavirus restrictions, leaving thousands of local children.

But big hearted residents in at least two Doncaster villages have ensured the man in red and white will put in an appearance before December 25.

Santa will be coming to parts of Doncaster this Christmas.

Locals in both Scawsby and Rossington are organising for Santa to travel the streets, waving at youngsters through the windows and bringing a bit of festive magic to Doncaster.

The dates for Rossington will be December 16-20 while in Scawsby, he is already on his Yuletide rounds.
