Their relationship with the international label will also help to gain big festival and support slots.

It hasn’t come easily, however, as the four band-members have been hard at it in the music industry in other bands for almost nine years.

Matt, the guitarist, said: "Growing up, we played some gigs and Joe was only fifteen.

“We'd play some, and as soon as we finished, we'd get kicked out of our own gig.”

HUULEN is a reinvention of their former band, which sounded more ‘pop-y’.

Matt said they had now become, “a bit more mature, a bit heavier and a bit more rocky".

Taking inspiration from everything from the Kooks to Radiohead, they are working on an album to be released in late January, working with producer in a ‘private’ Doncaster studio.

On the back of being signed, Matt said: “It feels like it’s towards something now”.

They have already penned in a mini-tour of Scotland for January, and a headline set at Sheffield’s Record Junkee on February 8 2020.

Matt said: “We just enjoy doing it, its our passion - we do it because we like doing it.”

You can catch them when they play Café Totem in Sheffield on November 30 supporting another South Yorkshire band, Shangralas.
