Housebuilder pledges clean-up after new Doncaster estate compared to dumpit site

The owner of a new Doncaster housing estate has pledged a clean-up after a nearby resident said builders had left the area strewn with rubbish.

Jennifer Oxley blasted Avant Homes who are behind the Eden Fields development off the West Moor Link Road between Edenthorpe and Armthorpe.

Avant has now said it will clean up the area and a spokesperson said: “We are aware of the situation at Eden Fields and have tasked our site team with clearing the debris and will continue to monitor moving forwards.”

Earlier, Jennifer said: “As a resident of Edenthorpe for 47 years I have never seen our village looking so untidy.

"It is like living on the edge of a dumpit site.

"Our beautiful woodlands are clogged with sacks, polystyrene packing, discarded sharp metal flags and plastic sheeting.

"Miles of plastic mesh lay on the ground, the perfect trap for any wildlife that remains.

"It’s an eyesore and a hazard. Shameful.”
