Funeral takes place as tributes come in after death of popular Doncaster doctor

The funeral has taken place of a ‘remarkable’ and ‘well-respected’ popular Doncaster doctor following his death.

Dr Alan Bake, who was a GP in Armthorpe for many years, died earlier this month at the age of 64.

His funeral was held earlier today at Rose Hill Crematorium.

A spokesman for Armthorpe’s Village Group Practice said: “The Village Group Practice is very sad to announce the passing of a longstanding GP in Armthorpe Dr Bake.

"Dr Bake sadly passed away on Wednesday 18 November.”

“He is survived by his wife Colette, daughter Emma, son in law Sam and beautiful granddaughter Sophia.

“He was a well-respected, much loved doctor who will be lovingly remembered by all who met him, his legacy will go on. Dr Bake was a remarkable and humble man and will be missed.
