Free pizza treat for Doncaster girl who created poster for NHS worker mum

A Doncaster girl who won a prize after designing a poster for her NHS worker mum has now tucked into free pizza as reward for her efforts.

10-year-old Hannah Barkley was designated Doncaster Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s first ever artist after sending her colourful ‘stay safe’ rainbow picture to health chiefs.

Mum Sarah Blanshard, a team leader for paediatric patients at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, said: “Hannah said she designed the picture for our window at home to ask everyone to stay safe and to tell everyone to stay home.

“She worries about me going to work everyday but wants everyone to understand we are doing an important job.”

Announcing her certificate prize on Facebook, a DBTH spokesman said: “This young lady received her official certificate, as will all those who have sent us artwork.”

And as an extra reward, Hannah and was treated to a family pizza meal from Thorne’s Best Kebabs.
