The project, which has been written and filmed by Wayne in Doncaster, features South Yorkshire Sheffield actor Matt Bugg, Ellen Stones, and Daniel Duggan.

The film breaks down into a series of five scenarios - covering crises in relationships - which will be used as part of a support network for vulnerable and struggling families.

“We were determined that the project should and could go ahead, despite all the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and we thoroughly checked the government guidelines before going ahead,” Wayne explained.

“We rented a property in the town and ensured it was thoroughly deep cleaned before we started work, minimising the risk to the actors, myself and our sound technician, the only person on the location.

“We had to scale back the original concept because of the current restrictions but in fact, I think that has helped us to make an even stronger and impactful piece of work.

“I’ve created a script specifically so that our actors don’t have to work too closely together and we’ve filmed with long lenses, with even our close ups created from a safe distance.

“We have also been very lucky to find three South Yorkshire actors who were all available to give the film a really authentic voice.”

Wayne is also an associate artist at Cast in Doncaster.

In June Wayne took part in a project commissioned by Right Up Our Street to ensure artists work is continuing to engage with people during lockdown.

Wayne helped to document residents lives during the pandemic by encouraging people to use their mobile phones, tablets and laptops to present an audio snapshot of how life has continued during lockdown.

Doncaster Children’s Service Trust is delivering social care and safeguarding to children, young people and families.

The trust work with other partners in the borough including council workers, police officers, doctors, nurses and teachers.
