Festive raffle raises £6,000 for South Yorkshire children's hospice
A festive raffle has collected a whopping £6,000 for a South Yorkshire children’s hospice.
North Midlands housebuilder Harron Homes raised the sum in donations for its Charity of the Year, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, after a successful raffle held in December.
The housebuilder organised the raffle as part of a range of festive activities to raise money for important causes, including a festive jumper day held across the company’s developments and head office.
Staff were able to purchase a ticket for a chance to win a range of fantastic prizes, including a collection of donated goodies provided by Harron Homes and business partners.

Since its inception in 2008, Bluebell Wood has been supporting hundreds of children across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire, providing an alternative to hospital care.
The organisation extends care to family members of patients, allowing exhausted parents to take some much-needed rest, and supporting parents and siblings during their child’s final moments.
Ellie Brumley, Regional Fundraiser for Bluebell Wood said: “We’re extremely grateful for all the time, effort, and generosity that has gone into this fundraising. It really does make a meaningful difference, and we can’t thank Harron Homes enough.”
Matthew Barker, Managing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands, said, “I’d like to thank our fantastic staff members for getting involved with our recent fundraising activities, and the generous contribution from our partners at Rightmove. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we’ve been able to donate a sum of money that can be used by the organisation to help those with the most difficult circumstances find some respite.”
