A popular former Doncaster Rovers loan player has joined the bookies’ list to replace England manager Gareth Southgate.

Ryan Mason, who made 20 appearances and scored one goal during two separate spells with Rovers, joins ex-Doncaster manager Darren Moore on the betting rounds following Southgate’s decision to quit following Sunday’s Euro 2024 final defeat by Spain.

Both Mason and Moore have odds of 50-1 with bookmakers, with current Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe and former Chelsea chief Graham Potter among the favourites.
