"David Attenborough inspired us to set up The Modern Milkman. We knew there was too much plastic in our everyday groceries and we wanted to do something about it.

All the firm’s milk and juice bottles are returned and reused and as well as milk, the firm also offers sweet treats, cereals, butter, eggs, coffee, cream, soft drinks and vegetable boxes.
Set up in Burnley by Simon Mellin, the firm has rapidly expanded during the coronavirus pandemic, with people choosing to get groceries home delivered during lockdown.

However, in recent years, traditional rounds have died off with people getting their milk from supermarkets.
