Anne Watson plucked up the courage to propose to Milos Kornjaca on Saturday Night Takeaway, with the romantic moment on their living room couch being beamed to millions of homes around the country.

Luckily for her, Milos didn’t think twice about saying yes.

It was one of a raft of proposals on the ITV show hosted by Ant and Dec, as couples took advantage of the somewhat old fashioned custom for women to pop the question on a leap day, February 29.

Building up to the big moment, the presenters told how Anne and Milos had been next door neighbours growing up and would knock on each other’s bedroom walls to communicate.

Anne then said: “My little soldier, we’ve been together for 30 years and I absolutely love you truly. Let’s get married.”
