Doncaster residents want to get to the bottom of a mysterious noise which has been plaguing them for weeks

A mysterious noise is causing a Doncaster man to lose sleep and he wants to get to the bottom of what’s causing it.

Guy Forshaw has been hearing an unusual noise from his home in Wheatley Hills.

He said: “It's a rumbling noise, akin to an idling motor which is prevalent late evening into the early hours around where I live near to the old Benbow Pub.

"Very similar to the Calderdale 'hum' from a while back.

"It can be felt in my home via a slight vibration to the building like a rumbling motor on a large plant hire machine outside.

Many in his area can also hear it according to the 'Next Door' social networking app which Guy has been using to keep an eye on the situation.

“It has been going for a few weeks now,” he said.

“I can't sleep until it goes off which it does intermittently but it's late around 4am before I can get some sleep.

“Even with the daytime general noise I can hear and feel it.”

Guy is looking for others in the Wheatley Hills area who have heard this noise to get in touch with him as he wants to get to the bottom of where the nuisance noise is coming from.
