Doncaster named one of cheapest places in UK to watch football in the pub
Doncaster has been named as one of the cheapest places in Britain to watch football in the pub.
For Brits, football is far more than a game.
It is ritual, routine and release all rolled into 90 minutes.
From midweek qualifiers to major international tournaments, millions head to their local rather than their living room, choosing the buzz of a packed pub over the quiet of the sofa.

Big screens, shared groans at missed sitters and heated debates over refereeing decisions are part of the experience.
But as the cost of living continues to bite, the price of that classic football night out can vary wildly depending on where you live.
To find out exactly where it is cheapest to watch football out in the UK, including pubs, food, beer and travel costs, Betmaster analysed 63 areas across the country.
The research compared the number of pubs and bars showing football per 10,000 residents alongside the average cost of a meal, a pint and a taxi to the pub.
And Doncaster was ranked fifth cheapest in the whole of the UK.
Salford claimed the top spot thanks to a winning combination of availability and affordability.
It boasts a remarkable 137.46 football-showing pubs per 10,000 residents, the highest in the country, meaning fans are spoilt for choice.
With food averaging £13 and beer at £4.30, both among the lowest nationally, the total cost of a football night out comes in at just £28.90. Travel costs remain reasonable too, helping Salford edge ahead as the overall best-value destination.
Doncaster shone thanks to some of the cheapest pints in the study, at £3.50. The low drink prices play a decisive role in keeping their total night-out costs around the £30 mark.
At the other end of the table, Liverpool ranks last overall with a total football night-out cost of £53. While its football heritage is undeniable, average travel costs of £32, the highest nationally, significantly drive up the final bill.
