Doncaster makeup artist transforms herself into Netflix’s Tiger King

It took Ellie Robson over two hours to transform herself into Joe Exotic the focal point of the recent Netflix documentary Tiger King.
“I borrowed my dad’s shirt and hat and used a hair extension to make the iconic mullet,” said the 22-year-old special effects artist.

Hide Ad“Then the beard and facial features were all made with makeup.”
Even though she is only halfway through the Documentary she is thoroughly enjoying it and plans to finish the rest soon.
After seeing so many people sharing their views on the Tiger King online she decided to put her makeup skills to the test and turn herself into the outspoken tiger loving man.
Ellie went on to re-create the viral ‘Carol Baskin’ dance on TikTok whilst wearing the Joe Exotic look.

Hide AdShe said: “I tried to follow the proper dance but ended up making up my own version.
“I hope it will make people laugh and they think that it’s funny.
“I love TikTok it’s fun to see so many people get creative whilst we’re all on our phones more during lockdown.”
Ellie says it can take quite a long time to create a Tik Tok once you have combined learning the dance and editing the video but she says that she really enjoys the process.

Hide Ad“It’s helping me reach a bigger audience with my makeup - my best performing video has had 6,000 views,” she continued.
“I hope to do more celebrity transformations in the future, I’d really like to try Micheal Jackson but buying wigs and costumes is a bit hard at the minute.”
She has also re-created Jack Sparrow and Freddie Mercury.
She said: “I have had a lot more spare time due to the lockdown.
“I would be going insane if I didn’t have a creative outlet, I love to draw and paint as well as do makeup.”
