Doncaster junior football club defends itself after police were called over alleged racist comment

A Doncaster junior football team has defended itself after police were asked to investigate alleged racism at a match.

Edlington White Stars has placed a statement on its Facebook page stating the club was cleared after an alleged of a racist comment at a match was reported to police.

It said the allegation had been investigated by the club and police and the incident in question had ‘been found innocent and have no case to answer”. They had waited until the investigation was completed before release a statement.

It added: “As we are an award winning Charter Standard Club, we are responsible for setting standards and values to apply throughout the club at every level, we will not tolerate harassment, bullying, abuse or victimisation of any individual, this includes sexual or racially based harassment or other discrimatory behaviour whether physical or verbal.
