Keen baker Aimee Smith, 10, came up with the idea – but thought she would only make a few pounds selling the buns to friends and neighbours.

But orders have soared – and she’s so far made £170.

Aimee from Cantley copied out a recipe for cupcakes in her bedroom and then wrote a letter to post to her neighbours to say she would be selling the buns outside when it was the weekly clap for carers.

Aimee baked cakes to raise cash for the NHS.

She baked and decorated 70 cupcakes and family members ordered some but when she took her cupcakes out to sell to neighbours at 50p each she had to ration them to two each because so many of the people on the street wanted them.
