Doncaster Citizens Advice's Kickstart scheme offers positions for young people on benefits

Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough are taking part in the Government incentive to support 16 to 24-year-olds who are on Universal Credit and are at risk of long term unemployment.

The Government-funded Kickstart scheme enables local Jobcentre Plus offices to recommend suitable individuals to Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough, who have a number of positions for successful candidates.

The first batch of candidates, who live locally, started their placements this week with the remainder due to start throughout the year.

There are 17 placements in all, with the last recruitment phase ending in December.

Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough is a charity which has served the people of Doncaster for more than 80 years and has remained open throughout Covid by using remote advice platforms.

Three large offices across the borough - Doncaster town centre, Stainforth and Mexborough – accommodate expert staff and volunteers who will assist in offering new recruits training in reception/administration/giving advice/debt/telephone/digital and research and campaigns.
