Doncaster church commited to feeding ten families a week throughout lockdown

Kingsley Avagah, aged 43, from Mexborough is the pastor of the Agape Life Chapel International based in Doncaster Town Centre.
Throughout lockdown, the church has been helping the community by feeding the vulnerable and the families of key workers.

Hide AdKingsley said: “We are helping the needy in our community through our project and saying thank you to the NHS and key workers.
“Our project has been able to assist key workers to be able to go to work while their children are taken care off.
“Our ongoing project has helped feed 10 families each week.”
The church has been working with companies and charities to help those in need - they have been working with Candylicious Treats, Pristy Branding, and The South Yorkshire Community Foundation.

Hide AdAs well as feeding 10 families the church has also been sending cupcakes to NHS workers and care homes to encourage them.
“We are all in this battle together and the front line workers have been facing the virus every day,” he continued.
“We wanted to show them how much we appreciate what they are doing and to motivate them to keep going.

He said: “If everyone came together and did their part the world would be a better place.”
Kingsley came to live in the UK eight years ago - prior to this he lived in Holland and is originally from Ghana.

Hide AdThrough his work with his youth group, he was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the queen for his role in community cohesion in Doncaster.
