She has lived at The Beeches since December 2018.

Rosie was born Rosie Pearson in Armthorpe and grew up at Brooke House farm which is next to the church. She went to the local village school, and used to help out around the farm

Her first job after leaving school was in a florist, but she did various jobs such as working in a WHSmith wholesaler.

She married Charlie Wraith on Sunday, December 29, 1940 at Armthorpe Parish Church, St Leonard's and St Mary’s. But he served abroad during World War Two, after he was enlisted into the army as a cook.

When Charlie came out of the army he spent time working at the local colliery, and then they managed a newsagents on Balby Road for a few years before Rosie worked up to her retirement as a post woman in the village.

Granddaughter Anne Barker said: “I remember she used to sit me on the letter bag rack on the front of the bike when I was younger.”

Charlie died on December 28 1995, the day before their 55th wedding anniversary. He was aged 78.

Rosie has a daughter, a son, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
